What exactly is a Webinar?
Webinar or Web Conferencing refers to a service that allows conferencing events to be shared with remote locations. In general the service is made possible by Internet technologies, particularly on TCP/IP connections. The service allows real-time point-to-point communications through your personal computer as well as multicast communications from one sender to many receivers. It offers information of text-based messages, voice and video chat to be shared simultaneously, across geographically dispersed locations. Applications for web conferencing include meetings, training events, lectures, or short presentations from any computer.
Can you please explain Simultaneous Interpretation?
An interpreter is a person who converts a thought or expression spoken by a speaker and verbally transforms the words into another language in real-time. The person interpreting the speech may be sitting in a sound-proof booth equipped with microphones and headsets. The interpreter must have mastered the language being spoken as well as the language it is being converted to. The interpreter’s function is to convey every semantic element (tone and register) and every intention and feeling of the message that the source-language speaker is directing to target-language recipients.
